NASA GMAO contributes to evaluating observing systems for
Synergistic Observing Network for the Ocean (SynObs)

SynObs Logo We are happy to announce that the Synergistic Observing Network for Ocean Prediction (SynObs) was officially endorsed as a United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 Project under ForeSea (Ocean Prediction Capacity of the Future) on June 8th. A complete list of selections is available at this webpage.

The Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) is poised to utilize and contribute their state-of-the-art subseasonal-to-seasonal prediction system to perform observing system evaluation (OSE) experiments in support of the international effort to evaluate the impacts of ocean observing systems (e.g., El Niño/Southern Oscillation predictions).
