10.19.2010 - New MERRA Atlas Available
The interactive MERRA Atlas provides a global visual perspective of selected variables from MERRA for each month, season and annual mean of the period 1979-present, as well as for the long term climate mean. It includes comparisons with other reanalyses and observations, and provides animation capabilities that facilitate browsing through the data.

06.23.2010 - USCLIVAR announces November workshop on renalyses and IESA
NOAA, NASA, NSF, and U.S. CLIVAR are sponsoring "Evaluation of Reanalyses - Developing an Integrated Earth System Analysis (IESA) Capability" to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on November 1-3, 2010.
One of the main objectives of this workshop is to begin understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the latest group of reanalysis and develop the needs for the next generation of reanalyses. As such, research and validation of MERRA data would be a valuable contribution to the workshop.
