MERRA-NOBM (NASA Ocean Biogeochemical Model) Reanalysis

Software

ESRID Code and Data [112 MB]: The Empirical Satellite-In situ Data (ESRID) algorithm (Gregg et al., 2009) reduces the discrepancies between SeaWiFS and MODIS. The approach uses relationships between satellite water-leaving radiances and in situ data after full processing (i.e. Level 3) to improve estimates of surface variables while relaxing requirements on post-launch radiometric re-calibration. Data available from September 1997 until December 2005 (fortran binary).

OASIM Software [1.6 GB]: The Ocean Atmosphere Spectral Irradiance Model (OASIM, Gregg, 2002) provides underwater irradiance field which drive the growth of the phytoplankton groups in the NOBM. The OASIM is based on the spectral model by Gregg and Carder (1990), expanded to the spectral regions 200 nm to 4 µm.
