GEOS FP - Version 5.13.0 Details
The new version of GEOS FP has a new capability to process additional input observation types, such as MLS ozone, METOP-B AMSUA, METOP-B IASI, METOP-B MHS, CRIS, SSMIS, and GOES sounder. The addition of these new instruments along with updates to the model and analysis components is expected to improve the scientific quality of the data. The file format is unchanged with one minor exception. In the GEOS-5.13 products, the netCDF "time" dimension is now UNLIMITED, although as before, each file contains only one timestep. In the past, this dimension variable was finite of length 1. We do not anticipate that this will have any computational impact on your systems. If you are interested in viewing or testing the data in advance of the upgrade, you can do so until the day prior to the upgrade at the location listed below. The system switch will be made starting with FP data produced on August 20 at 06z
