Workshop on Sensitivity Analysis and Data Assimilation in Meteorology and Oceanography1–5 June 2015, Stonewall Resort |
Airports:
- Clarksburg (CKB), 35 minutes drive
- Pittsburgh, PA (PIT), 2 hour drive
- Washington Dulles (IAD), 4+ hour drive
The 3 airports to consider are Clarksburg WV (CKB; 40 min. from the hotel), Pittsburgh International (PIT; 2 hr), and Dulles (Washington) (IAD; 4 hr). While travel to IAD may be cheaper, it may be much more difficult to join a carpool, and extremely costly to take a taxi otherwise. International travelers should allow up to 2 hours to go through customs and immigration at their airport of entry into the U.S.
We will help arrange car pooling. The workshop is also funding 3 car rentals for which those being funded by the workshop will have priority carpooling. We may also have some people driving from the Baltimore/Washington D.C. willing to make a 2 hour diversion to pick up some people at PIT. CKB arrivals/departures should not be an issue.
If a van is still needed to the airport on Friday, we will reserve it on Tuesday morning of the workshop, Cost would depend on the number of passengers.
