Abstract:
The main objective of the present Technical Memorandum is to document the precipitation corrections for the NASA Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Level 4 Soil Moisture (L4_SM) Version 6 algorithm and the Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) Reanalysis for the 21st Century (R21C). The corrected precipitation data are primarily based on data from the NASA Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission, specifically the quasi-global precipitation datasets of the Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM (IMERG) suite of products.
