Comparisons with the EnKF and OI
|
Begin Main Content
A multivariate ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) is used to assimilate in-situ
temperature and salinity observations and remotely sensed altimeter data into
the Poseidon global Ocean General Circulation Model (OGCM).
The analysis field are compared to a univariate analysis of temperature and
salinity using optimal interpolation (OI-TS).
Assimilated Variables
- EnKF Exp1: T, S, SSH
- EnKF Exp2: No SSH
- EnKF Exp3: No Argo S
- OI-T: T
- OI-TS: T, S
- OI-TSR2: T, S, new parameters
- OI-NOARGO2: No Argo S
